Jay Jay the Plane Theme Party Supplies

Jay Jay the Plane Theme Party Supplies, Party Decorations, Favors,Tips and Ideas! If your child loves Jay Jay the Plane, Party Supplies by Vicki is the place for for all of your Jay Jay the Plane Theme Party Supplies and Party Decorations!

Fun Activities

EZ Airline Pins

As each guest arrives, give him or her an EZ Airlines pin. Airlines frequently give away their pins to children, you can find plain ones at a hobby store, or make your own from construction paper. Be sure to customize your pins with “EZ Airlines”!

Wing Wigglin’
This version of Simon Says will delight your guests because they’ll get to act like Jay Jay and his airplane friends. To play, gather everyone in a room. Choose a child to be Jay Jay, who stands in front of the group and leads them in the following three actions:

Flying - stand with arms outstretched
Landing - crouch down with arms outstretched
Wing Wigglin’ - move arms (giggling is o.k. too!)

Once each child has practiced the motions a few times, start the game. The leader begins by saying “Jay Jay says fly!” Everyone must stand in place facifacing the leader with arms outstretched to make wings, bending at the waist to pretend they’re turning if they wish. If anyone accidentally lands (crouches) or wiggles their wings instead, he or she is out and must sit down. The leader can change motions at any time, so players must watch carefully. If a player accidentally performs the wrong motion, then he or she is out. The game continues until there is only one “plane” left. The last person left gets to be the new leader!

Jay Jay’s Jet Race
This game is fun because winning is just a matter of chance. To play, mark a target on the ground a short distance away or make a finish line on the floor with tape. Mark a starting line, and blow up a balloon for each child. For fun, write the name of a Jay Jay the Jet Plane character on each balloon or attach character stickers to the balloons instead. To begin, count down from three. When you say go, each child tries to land his or her “jet” inside the target, or cross the finish line, by tossing or hitting it.

Airport Field Trip
If you live near an airport, take the kids to watch some real planes in action! Since a major airport might not be easily accessible due to traffic or crowds, consider a smaller local airport that serves private or commercial planes. Call in advance to see if someone would be willing to give your group a quick tour, or let the kids sit in the cockpit of a small plane. No matter what type of airport you visit, the kids will enjoy watching the planes take off and land!

Make & Take Placemats
You may want to enlist the help of other moms for this activity. You’ll need a Jay Jay the Jet Plane coloring book (or generic book with jets and planes), crayons, thin pieces of cardboard (for stiffening the placemats), and a roll of clear Con-Tact paper. Remove the pages from the coloring book and cut the cardboard to match the size of two coloring pages. Cut the Con-Tact paper a little larger.

At the party, give each child two pages and let them have fun. When they’re finished, lay the pictures on top of the cardboard and cover with Con-Tact paper.

Storytime with Jay Jay and Friends
A wonderful way to calmly bring your party to an end is with a story or video! Invite everyone to sit in a circle and listen while you read them a Jay Jay the Jet Plane adventure story. While you read the story, your guests can draw or color in a coloring book.

Or if you prefer, invite your guests to watch a Jay Jay the Jet Plane video until their parents arrive.

Delectable Treats

EZ Airlines Lunch Box
Make each guest at your party feel special with an individual party snack packed in a box. These can be Chinese takeout boxes or other small boxes decorated with EZ Airlines or your own airline logo. Each can include: 1 ham or turkey sandwich in plastic wrap (make using 1 slice of meat and 1 slice of cheese on a dinner roll); 1 packet of mustard; carrot & celery sticks; 1 lunch-size bag of chips; 1 mini chocolate bar; 1 juice box.

Brenda Blue’s Sparkling Cider
Refuel your guests with this sparkling treat that’s a favorite of Brenda Blue, Tarrytown Airport’s ace mechanic. Serve the sparkling cider in blue plastic cups. Attach stickers of small tools (wrench, hammer, etc.) to the sides of the cups for fun!

High-Flying Cloud in a Cup Meal
Even though your guests are grounded on the tarmac, fool their tummies into thinking they’re flying high in the sky with this tasty treat!

Cook one cup of macaroni until tender; drain, set aside. Next, sauté 1 small chopped onion in margarine until tender. Add 2 Tbs. cornstarch and 2 cups nonfat milk to the sautéed onion; cook and stir until thick and bubbly. Reduce heat and cook 2 to 3 more minutes. Add 2 cups grated cheddar cheese and 2 cups frozen corn to the onion mixture, stirring until cheese melts. Remove from heat; set aside.

Separate 4 eggs. Beat egg yolks; slowly add to the cheese mixture while stirring. Fold in macaroni.
Beat egg whites and add 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar until stiff peaks form.

Fill 8 ovenproof mugs (coffee mugs work great) 1/4 full with the cheese and macaroni mixture. Top with a heaping spoonful of egg white to form clouds. Place mugs on a baking sheet and bake at 350° F. for 25 min, until golden brown. (Makes 8 servings)

Jay Jay’s Cloud Cookies
Your guests will be flying high when they taste these delicious treats. To make them, you will need: 4 egg whites, 1/4 tsp. salt, 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar, 1.5 cups sugar, 1 tsp. vanilla, and 1 cup white chocolate chips. Preheat oven to 300 degrees F.

Separate egg whites from the yolks. Dispose of the yokes, and beat the egg whites until frothy. Add the salt and the cream of tartar. Beat on high until stiff peaks form. Slowly add the sugar, a tablespoon at a time; beat well after each addition. Lastly, add the vanilla and fold in the chips.

Drop spoonfuls of the dough on a lightly-greased cookie sheet. Bake for 18-20 minutes until firm. Cool completely and store cookies in an airtight container. Note: These cookies are best eaten within a few day for maximum freshness.

Decorating Tips

Spread your tablecover on your party table. If your child has any theme-related toys, you can add them to the table for a more festive display. Cut several one-to-two-foot-long pieces of curling ribbon. Curl the ribbon by pulling it between your thumb and the blade of your scissors. Lay the rresulting curls on your table for added color. Hang balloons in bunches for the best effect. If you choose to fill balloons with helium, wait until the party day to ensure they float well!

Use balloons to mark the party spot; hang them on the mailbox, near the front door, or tie them to the birthday child's chair to mark the seat of honor.

Place balloons anywhere that strikes your fancy. The more the better!

Gather six or eight streamers and attach them to the ceiling in the center of the party room (or over the table). Use a light fixture over the table, if you have one, as the center point for the streamers.

To create colorful two-tone streamers, put two differently colored streamers back-to-back, twist as you walk them to the wall, and attach at shoulder height.

Smile for the Camera!
Be sure to take lots of pictures. You and your child will want to remember this special party. A helpful hint: Order extra prints and send them to the parents afterward. Remember, it's not necessary to have everyone in each picture. Focus on small groups and avoid posing all the photos. Candids capture the laughter best!
